The Guesthouse
The Guesthouse hosts an artist residency and project space located in the historic Shandon area of Cork City.
Established in 2009, The Guesthouse was developed as a space for experimentation, collaboration, and exchange across disciplines. Combining residency accommodation, shared workspaces, and public project space, it supports artists, researchers, curators, filmmakers, sound artists, performers, and collaborative groups working across contemporary practices.
The building operates as both a living and working environment, encouraging conversation, shared activity, and informal exchange between visiting artists, local practitioners, and wider audiences. The kitchen and communal spaces form an important social centre within the house, supporting gatherings, presentations, workshops, meals, and public events.
Residencies range from 1–3 months and provide artists with time, space, and connection to Cork’s artistic community.
